Thread: Editing the EDU

    Default Editing the EDU

A few searches have turned up nothing.

Whenever I make changes in this file (such as changing the ownership of some of the units) the changes don't stay permanent. I change something, save, then load the game. But when I exit the game and open the file again the changes are gone. I'm using Notepad ++, which works whenever I edit other files.

Any ideas where the problem lies?

Ah well, if it isn't included with the FAQ yet () and in any case as well:
It is likely you use the Trivial Script to launch EB.
In order to be able to give you much of its convenient functionality the EB Trivial Script overwrites the EDU file in the EB/Data/ folder with either the one in sp game backup/ or the one in mp game backup/ folder.
Which file is used for overwriting the EB/Data/ folder with, of course, depends on which mode (SP or MP) you 'run' EB in.
Hence: in order to have your changes so up every time you run EB you will have to edit the files (and back those up first!) in their respective 'back up' folders.

I do NOT answer PM requests for help with EB. Ask in a new help thread in the tech help forum.
