Queensland, Australia has been in drought in drought (the worst in over 100 years) for the last 3-4 years. The combined water supply was 15% at the lowest point. Outback Queensland had to have water shipped in. This last few months we've had less than average rainfall, but the government has actually done a bit, building a water transfer pipeline (which my brother supervised for 9 months, his first out of uni job) and a desalination plant. We are now between 39 and 40%!!! Still on Level 6 water restrictions, you just get used to it.
My knowledge of the restrictions:
140 Litres per person per day, no outside watering/washing/filling up the pool, 4 minute showers. If you have a rainwater tank you can do some watering. It was tough to begin with, but its ok now. WE have to hit 40% total supply before we go down to Level 5, which means 30 minutes a week of a hand held hose watering/washing/filling up the pool.
And you complain about a bit of rain![]()
