Now, if I could just figure out some way to capture and transport makaikhaan's excess (unwanted) Iowa rainfall out here to the left coast, I'd be one rich Org'ster.
Queensland, Australia has been in drought in drought (the worst in over 100 years) for the last 3-4 years. The combined water supply was 15% at the lowest point. Outback Queensland had to have water shipped in. This last few months we've had less than average rainfall, but the government has actually done a bit, building a water transfer pipeline (which my brother supervised for 9 months, his first out of uni job ) and a desalination plant. We are now between 39 and 40%!!! Still on Level 6 water restrictions, you just get used to it.

    My knowledge of the restrictions:
140 Litres per person per day, no outside watering/washing/filling up the pool, 4 minute showers. If you have a rainwater tank you can do some watering. It was tough to begin with, but its ok now. WE have to hit 40% total supply before we go down to Level 5, which means 30 minutes a week of a hand held hose watering/washing/filling up the pool.

And you complain about a bit of rain
