I'll second Becoming Jane. I can handle chick flicks when they are period pieces, and faithful to the period. That way my brain can engage with it as a historical film rather than a romcom. Check out the BBC's versions of Jane Austen for very highbrow chick flicks.

I'll agree with period pieces as well. Paying attention to the historical aspects makes it easier to swallow the romantic stuff.

Some, actually. I cheerfully admit to enjoying The Music Man, The Sound of Music, and Moulin Rouge. Indeed, I'm probably the only heterosexual male in the Western Hemisphere that will admit to owning a copy of the latter.

Do you watch a lot of Bravo TV?

Only when reruns of The West Wing are on. Otherwise, no.

Is your house/apartment tastefully decorated?

Only if numerous stacks of books, Lego space sets, and classic Transformer figures posed all over my bookshelf count as "tasteful".
