Let's evaluate what the group stage has been for my predictions:

Well Group A and B were predicted flawless, despite the fact that Croatia proved to be better. This resulted in a change of pairs in the quarter finals, and yesterday's match showed us that Portugal is another Spain -unable to make it to the top with a golden squad. That should be called the Iberian Syndrome.

This exposed Turkey to one of the best performing teams of Euro 2008 so far, the Croatians. Our sturdy determination accompanied with gentle kisses of the Lady Luck carried us to the quarter finals. As I expressed in the other Euro 2008 thread, this emotional boost would be benefited by us the best -being sensible beasts. I'm expecting a run over the Croatia today, it will be a match where we'll not be repeating our last ditch act (unless we see a very early goal in our nets). And if we make it through the semis, the weather for a dreamy final is brighter. 'Cause I'd surely prefer Germans to the Portuguese (as I stated in my quarter finals match-ups), ad we can stand better chances against Deutschland indeed.

It seems I have badly failed at the "killer group", giving no chances to my lovely Oranjes. They are the top team by committing the execution of final-makers like Italy and France and also murdering my surprise team -Romanians- with their B squad. Had Mutu scored that penalty we'd be seeing no Azurri as well as Les Bleus. However I'm always backing the idea that some teams are tournament teams -like Germany- and manage to proceed somehow.

I've supported the neighbors as the one to make it to the quarter finals being a team of discipline and stability. However it seems the guys have been bored of themselves and the survival of the Spartan defense was no longer available. They saw the very bottom of the group. It was a comparably soft group for Spain regarding the defenses of the rival teams, and the rightside Iberian inhabitants have an upfront many others should envy. Villa was born to score and it's no different here in this tournament as well. However I don't see Spain doing it anyway. A top form Oranjes can show them the way to Madrid, should Azurri fail in the quarter finals. Russia is quite like Turkey on terms of performance. The storming Dutchmen can wreak havoc on the Moskofs. If Netherlands manage to keep their form they had in the group stage for the quarter finals, Russkis will end up with a devastating defeat.

And here are the prediction results for the cooperating fellows here:
