ok so that would fix the after battle CTD, but what about the before or middle battle ctd,
my system configuration is pentium 4, 3,06 ghz, 768 RAM, video card win fast px 7300 128 mb.
the only problem seems to be my RAM but i'm planing to upgrade them this week.

Before battle crash sounds like you need the "missing sprites" fix. During battle crash is rare; I know some have experienced it when charging a certain cavalry unit, but otherwise it usually means faulty hardware.

Having problems getting EB2 to run? Try these solutions.

There's one thing you can do to help prevent lock-ups mid-battle:
Disable the cut-scenes (when the enemy general is killed; when a wall comes down or whatever...) which is IIRC part of the preferences text file.

These cut scenes tend to be a bit of a hit on your hardware compared to the rest of the battle.

Post battle CTD's can be alleviated by giving the e~005 app time to do its cleanup work. A good measure would be to wait until the victory/defeat music has finished.
