    You can set up a campaign that only involves the AI. Now if only I could remember how to do that.

    Well, I have a lot of replays with a lot of camels...

    And if you play with -ian you can press "a" to make the game auto-run, but no battles

    LittleGrizzly's absolutely correct! You lot should play a custom battle once in a while.

    Go to custom battle, and set it so you've got two AI armies, one defending, one attacking - you will also be defending so essentially it's a 2v1 match. Choose only a single unit of soldiers for your army and whatever you want for you're ally and the enemy, then as you deploy, simply move your troops to the edge and flee (ctrl+o) as soon as the game begins.
    Edit: Not that I use ctrl+o often in a campaign battle. <_<
