I might as well ask it here, what is a good mod if any for mtw2 that improves it ala EB?
Oh, and whilst I'm at it for BI that keeps it in the relavant age.

"Tell them I said something......"
Pancho Villa
Completed; Rome AD14!
For BI - obviously EB + bi.exe
For M2TW - surely the EB2 - pity it is still in development
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
For MTW2- As mentioned before, Stainless Steel is worth going after. Larger map than in Vanilla, as well as several new factions (Aragonese, Kievan Rus, Templars and more) and is a great mod to play. It's the only MTW2 mod I've ever played but I enjoyed it thoroughly. If you want the link to download it it's here. FYI MTW2 needs to be patched to 1.2 for it, as the page says:

As for a BI mod, the only one I've ever played is IBFD. It's a fair mod, and while a lot of work's been put into it the legionaries' stats outdo just about any barbarian units, eventually making it possible to completely steamroll literally thousands of barbarians with a few hundred (4000 killed by 1200, 100-200 casualties as romans, 3500-3900 barbarians wiped out) All the same it's worth giving a go since I've never tried playing as the barbarians and it might be funner that way.
Enjoy
I don't have M2TW, but as others have said, try out IBFD. It is a very challenging late Roman era mod and while the Romans have very high quality Legio troops, they come at a cost of high upkeep, restrictive AOR, and long recruitment times. You should definitely check it and it's submods over at TWCenter as their forum there is much more active. Actually, most of the mod forums over there are much more active with the exception of EB, which has a large following over here.

There is one for M2TW that is very much like that stainless steel mod the other person was talking about, BUT has larger Role play elements.
Dues lo Vult-
Money is a LARGE part of the game, at least in the start. If you have armies besieging cities it costs you extra to have them besieging, costs you extra to have them in the field and not in a castle or city, theres other things like employing assasins/spies in enemy territory, you will have to pay extra for them as well.
Its eventually do-able as your cities get bigger and start pouring the money in, but you can never be too safe, especially when you have 2 stacks sieging cities....it will cost you close to 8000 in upkeep.
Keep your population happy or you will get butchered by a rebel stack that spawns to besiege your city.
You can choose between making your young family members civilian governors or good generals, have them earn their education in a castle/city for each.
And other types of role play, its pretty fun, and has (some) different factions from Stainless Steel.
The main difference of the two is that stainless steel is geared towards gameplay balance, while dues lo vult makes it much closer to what managing a real empire was.....especially in the punishing cost of army upkeep.
Dues lo Vult is not for the weak of mind hahahah
Stainless Steel and Broken Crescent are focused on improving gameplay without changing it too much, and visually are both really awesome. The difference is obviously that the first is set in europe and near east, the second in central asia.
Deus lo Vult is totally about roleplaying and making the game really challenging, but IMHO some of his features are simply punitive, and they need a little modding sometimes, however I like it very much and I'm actually playing it, when EB leave me time to waste of course..
