My condolences to you, your classmates, and all the families involved. Its always a terrible shock and pity that someone so young dies in a senseless accident.

Agreed Moros. Sorry to hear that edyz. The worst that's happened to me was lose my pet bird. That was a real big shame but I suppose it's nothing compared to a friend like that.

    My condolences, mate.

Just last year around this time we lost a trainee teacher/collegue at our school in a mountaineering accident. He was a young Canadian cross country runner with big plans for the future. For some strange reason he went off alone without mobile phone or telling anybody where he was going. It took us a week to realise that he was missing as he wasn't actually teaching per se but only taking care of one or two 'special cases'. Mountain rescue failed to find him and it was only by pure chance that a lost mountain climber found him six weeks after the accident. He had probably slipped and fallen a good 300 metres.

It is aways tragic to lose someone you know. I wasn't espcially close to him eventhough I saw him almost every day. Losing a friend is obviously much more devastating. Hopefully, you can all pull together and console each other and find ways in which such pointless accidents can be avoided in the future.

The last words of the last email his mum sent him ended by telling him not to fall off a mountain. Talking about premonition...

My dad told me: "You're not going to the Himalaya trip because you might trip and fall of a mountain." I followed his advice and I stayed in the campus.

    Premonition. That's how he died.
Ja mata, TosaInu. You will forever be remembered.

Its quite upsetting to have a friend or colleague suddenly and without warning die; especially one you had spoken words with. I hope your doing okay my friend, and as CA has said, if you need to say anything more, we're here to give what we can.

    Man Edyz that's horrible...

I had a friend of my family die in a car crash about four or five years back, it was horrible. He was driving too fast and a bridge in front of him had frozen over, so his car slipped on the ice and he slammed into some trees or something off to one side of the road. It was really tough, but eventually you'll learn to live with it somehow, and at the very least you'll still have fond memories of your good friend.

It's tough to lose someone close, certainly someone so young. Take care.
