    Default Buggered By Baktria...

... or How am I supposed to succeed with the Saka?

I started a Saka Rauka campaign last night out of interest. I was very impressed with the faction, I must say. Anyway, I decided that the only way to succeed at all was to have lots of early conquest, and that way I might build up my treasury (how wrong I was). For a while it was fine, with me steaming through rebels and Seleukids alike.

Now, I must admit that I had difficulty set to VH/M, so what happened next may be my own fault. All of a sudden the Baktrioi attacked me in Chach with a full stack of pikemen and Persian archers! All I had in Chach was a family member and one unit of Saka horse archers. My only other notable armies were a force composed of two family members and three horse archers going to attack Sulek, and one family member and half a horse archer unit coming to reinforce Chach. Even if I'd had all my men in one place, there was no way that I could possibly have defeated the Baktrian army. What is more is that, despite having five provinces under my control, I still made a financial loss each turn!

Please, somebody give me some advice!

there was a guide done a few months back on how to make a profit with the saka that helped me a lot. also try to engage baktria on the field because then when you run out of arrows you can retreat and attack them again next turn. thats what i did and with just a small army you can take down anything eventually
