    Default modding RTW and Vista

    Hi all,

I'm having trouble making some changes to the descr_strat file in RTW. I have RTW & BI patched up to 1.6, and I'm trying to make a few simple changes -- like nerfing the living crap out of Egypt so they don't always run rampant on the map. This involves changing settlement ownership, deleting buildings and armies... simple stuff which I've done before on an older computer with XP.

My *new* computer uses Vista, however, and I suspect this is the problem. When I go to File and select Save after making my changes, a message comes up which essentially prevents me from saving. It asks me to make sure the path name is correct, which it must be since I haven't changed it and I simply want to overwrite the existing file.

How can I convince my computer that I actually *do* want to overwrite the file with my changes?

    Thanks in advance,

    CountMRVHS

Right click the file, click on properties, go to security, click edit, then check all the permission boxes in the panel below the edit button for each of the user profiles seen in the above panel. That'll unlock the files and make it possible to save your changes.
