Hey guys I know you can't watch replays of campaign battles but can anyone suggest a program that will record the battles to watch later? and if I was to use such a prg would it add significantly to any lag problems?

Try Fraps. And yes it will (assuming I'm correct in understanding what you mean by "lag"), all depends on the quality of video your taking and the type of system your using. They're may be over programs which run faster but I don't know, I would suggest you hit google and choose whatever most appropriate to your needs.
