    Talking Post your desktop thread

On other forums, a topic like this seems almost obligatory, yet we haven't had one for about 3 years. The last one (and it's related topic, 'post your desk') both sank into obscurity after they descended into nothing but arguing with Kapo about Nazi's. It's a shame really, because it can be good fun to look back on our old desktops - it's almost like a time capsule.

So, let's start again. Click the thumbnail!

As you can probably guess, i'm heavily into pimping out my desktop. Looks pretty good i think.

My desktop's fairly dull and default. I'm a bit of a computer minimalist. Nothing that doesn't fit in with the design and colour scheme of the the desktop icons cannot go on the desktop, and must go on the start menu (which is rigorously organised into a set of categories and sub-categories to make finding things easier).

I generally use self-taken photographs for wallpapers, although I occasionally use something which I liked on the internet or elsewhere.

    My current desktop:

It's from Lanzarotte in the Canary Islands. It's not in the Mediterranean, but it has a Mediterranean climate, although possibly a little drier (the gardens there need a lot of watering with sprinklers and the suchlike). That photo was taken from the path on the front of Puerto del Carmen (opposite the set of three "Lani's" restaurants in a row).

    Thanks BTW

    Pretty cool destop there Mikeus.

Here's my current desktop, after a while I usually delete most of the shortcuts on my desktop since it starts getting quite cluttered which ends up very annoying. I keep most of my modding files on the desktop too, just so I remember to actually mod.

I would like to know where you acquired that background picture Rythmic, looks very nice.
As for mine, note the awesomeness that is Windows 2000:

I make a lot of my backgrounds using GIMP, much more satisfying to see it after a nice CTD. Unfortunately I didn't make this one though, I tried to make a starfield but eventually I just google'd it and set it as my background.

Image courtesy of the Adult Swim website. It's a beer drinker's desktop image.

(Oh, yeah, and my mother's not dead. That's a really bad poem I wrote a couple years ago about the 60's... matter of fact, I'm gonna delete it right now.)
