multiplayer problems

I have just got off trying to play multiplayer with Hannibal (no, not the famous general)..I set the game to Multiplayer, had the servers ready, and went into MP. so far so good..it loads. then, when I go into LAN battle, it asks for a name. I type it in, and click on the tick. guess what? the game freezes! no response, nothing! its just the same friggin screeen for 10 minuts, longer it takes to load EB. I finally get the task manager to look, and the game isn't responding at all. what is wrong?

Firewall software blocking RTW internet connection maybe?

This is quite common when you are using software firewall. Sometimes firewall box will appear asking you if you want to allow this software to connect with internet and sometimes it does not appear.
In this case RTW is waiting for connection and on the other hand firewall software is waiting for you decision. So unless you minimize game and tell firewall what to do it will wait like this untill your patience runs out.

Either configure your firewall properly before palying EB online or try to join online and then minimize EB and configure your firewall.
