To be honest, I have no idea. He spoke very little of the war other than closing the tank lid on his hand and cutting his finger clean off. (It was sewed back on.) But the Canadian government will allow me to see his military records and anything else in his files if I submit a formal request and proof of kinship. I'll have to go to Ottawa to see them. They pretty much stand guard over you while you have the files and you have to wear white gloves when handling the papers.

In any case, the Nazis had their time. They rose and they fell. But for anyone to continue to follow the cult of Hitler and his henchmen is, well, blisteringly stupid and shows naught but their inability to come to grips with reality.

I suppose if a person has no friends, intellect, conscience, or skills, he might be drawn to the Nazi flame like a mindless moth, but methinks shooting heroin in a crowded elevator would be more socially accepted and beneficial to the user.
