I think the description of the temple of zeus states that it gives a loyality/happines bonus of +4 without the percent. So this sounds like an attribute description in an role play game. My association was actually that it would grant a bonus according to e.g. the overall loyalty of a city. But what I found was that it grants a general bonus of 10%, I think.

Speaking of wonders, I read here quite often that the trade bonus of the colossos wears off over time. Is this true and has there been any research been conducted? I found this very hard to measure, because of the "natural" fluctuation of trade income.

If you look on the settlement data panel when you own the statue, you will find a golden bell and a descriptiom of wonder.

I think the rhodes one is co-incidence as wen your empire expands, you are reduced to internal trading which I think seems less profitable.

Yah, I've also noticed that the Temple of Zeus bonus starts with something like 20%, but goes down to 5-10% or so after a while. I didn't think much of it, it only seemed logical that familiarity breeds-- not exactly contempt, but a certain blase attitude. It happened with the Romans in the late Republic.

Flying Pig: Is internal trade less profitable? I remember Omanes (I think) saying that it's the settlement's inherent trading 'power', not the owning faction, that matters.

I'm sure wonders make everybody empire wide happy for a specific number of turns, but their effect slowly collapses over time by about 5%.

I'm not totally sure if this is the case everywhere, but in most cases +1 of something typically means +5% to factor. This is true for generals, but I'm uncertain about the wonders.

I'm sure that internal trade is as profitable as external trade with other nations. This is one of the reasons the Roman civil war doesn't result in massive bankrupsy for all the Roman factions. Each good appears to have a specific taxation value which enters your coffers regardless of who it is sold or given to.

That's what I observed as well, plus: If you have the Olympian Zeus, the happiness bonus from wonders will not go below 10%. At least that's what my settlement details scroll tells me.
