The .Org Summer Writing Contest.
Yeah you thought this would be yearly? No sir we're rocking this thing seasonal! This go round's theme: Prosperity. To go in line with the Summer of 08 in which we are witnessing the yearly bloom of life, and just to mix things up a bit this time the challenge takes the form of a Poetry Contest! You can discuss the contest here, good luck and have some fun!
The Challenge: Write a poem of any format or style with a limit of no more than 20 lines.
The Theme: Summer 2008 – We saw rebirth in spring, and now we witness Prosperity. (defin: To be fortunate or successful. To grow vigorously; to flourish or bloom)
We had a lot of questions as to what was exactly allowed last go round, so this time I’ll try to be much more clear. Anything within creative grasp is permitted so long as it stays within rules, stays true to our theme and isn’t completely obscene then we have no problem with it.
The Prize: The winner and runner-up will both receive a highly-sought-after .Org literary badge! Bragging rights are worth more than gold, right?
The Rules
1) One submission per person. All submissions must be original work, published or unpublished.
2) Your work must be 20 lines or less and must fit within poetic reason. I’m not going to be happy if I see people submitting poems with mile long lines. You know what I’m talking about, you with the scheming face…
3) The standard Org rules regarding language (and not the more lenient Mead-Hall ones) apply for the contest.
4) The submission period will run from a minute past midnight GMT on Monday, 30 June to the same time on Friday, 25 July. To submit your entry, PM your entry to Monk. It will then be posted in a separate submission thread.
5) Everyone may write and enter, from Junior Members to Org staff, except for the judges.
6) ALL SUBMISSIONS ARE FINAL. Submissions are posted “as is” when received by Monk. Once posted it is not permitted to be edited (unless I screw up the bolding or fomatting which I sometimes do, then I will fix.)
The Judging
Impress us with your creativity and your ability to hook us in.
The winner will be decided by three judges:

What we're looking for is mainly a few things; Originality, Creativity, How well you express your ideas and captivate us. Judges will discuss which poem is their favorite and after many hours (and threats!) a winner will be at last selected.
The voting will be complete by 23:59 GMT on Sunday, 27 July, and the winner(s) will be announced soon afterwards.
