And what about age? In my current Ptolemy campaign I seem to be getting lots of old guys (45+) turning up, while in a recent Getai campaign they were mostly in their 20s and 30s.

I thought that maybe some more "advanced" cultures (Roman, Hellenistic) would require a "new man" to prove himself as a leader of men, competent administrator etc before being considered for marriage. Conversely, an a "barbarian" culture, it might be more personal attributes like courage in battle that make a man worthy.
