    Default question on unit recruitment

hi all, i am new with EB and i just started my first campaign with the romani without other mods. around 250BC now and i think i am having a problem with my installation.. or maybe it is just right that i am not able to recruit levy hoplites and other local units with lvl 2+ local barracks and a typeIV goverment? pre polybian on taras and reghion.. just the skirmishers..

because the barrack description shows that i will be able to recruit aleuthropoi? (the skirmishers) and levy hoplites and all other greek local troops.. but all that appears in the recruitment panel is the skirmisher.. and bruttians after lvl 4 barracks, i think..

In the italic provinces the local barracks should not be able to recruit anything. This is because the recruitment from the local barracks cannot be tied to the reforms. Thus local troops in the italic provinces are only found in the factional barracks. Instead of building the local barracks, then, you need to building the factional barracks.

But in Taras and Rhegion, you should be able to recruit levy hoplites with a level 1 regional MIC. Did you build the regional MIC?

i dont have the game right now but if the regional MIC is the barracks the can be built with the type 4 goverment then i think yes.. i did read levy hoplites and skirmsihers recruitable with levell 1 regional MIC.. but no hoplites only skirmishers..
and bruttians by level 4 MIC if i remember..

i am the only one who cant recruit hoplites in taras and reghion here? :(

Default AW: question on unit recruitment

That's strange. You should be able to recruite from local barracks in Greek Italy:

    Level 1:
    Akontistai
    Hoplitai Haploi

    Level 2:
    Akontistai
    Hoplitai Haploi
    Toxotai
    Peltastai

    Level 3:
    Akontistai
    Hoplitai Haploi
    Toxotai
    Peltastai
    Hoplitai
    Hippeis

    Level 4:
    Akontistai
    Hoplitai Haploi
    Toxotai
    Peltastai
    Hoplitai
    Hippeis

    Level 5:
    Akontistai
    Hoplitai Haploi
    Toxotai
    Peltastai
    Hoplitai
    Hippeis
    Generals (2)

Do you use the original EB or did install any mini-mods too? For example with the "Roman Allies" mini-mod you cannot recruite most of the Greeks in Italy. And is it a Roman local barracks that you try to recruite from or is it the Epeirote building that is still there?

Thats the only reason i can think of too. However he did say he could see them in the recruitable list...so am slightly worried. Would no activation of the script be in any way a cause of this?
