Family Retainers or Generals Bodyguard

Where in the RTW code is it decided which "general_unit" to take as the retainer unit for new family members? It seems the code is looking for the first ones it finds in exprot_descr_unit; which is why all general units must be at the bottom. If this is true, how do bodyguards change?

Yes, the first one that has the "general_unit" attribute and ownership of that faction.
