Thread: Roman Campaign 245 BC CTD

Default Roman Campaign 245 BC CTD

Again a crash to desk top when I end my turn. I am currently besieging a city, I capture it and then when I click what option I want it automatically crashes to desktop. Every single game I play with this mod crashes to desktop before I finish. You know this is a GREAT mod potentially but I think some more time should have been spent on performance. This is the worst rome mod for stability I play. It is REALLY REALLY frustrating. I have a fully upgraded computer with enough hardware to run two versions at the same time, yet I again am stuck with a CTD. LAME.

Should I post a save file, or am I screwed again?

I used my old save file and stormed the city and CTD stopped. Thank god.. so nvm for now.

Dont have a go at EB and the designers mate, the problem will likely be that there is a compatibility issue somewhere. Its basically impossible to make a game thats crash or mistake free; the reason EB is slow and is prone to a few CTD's is because its one of the biggest and most detailed mods out there, and they fit it all around a basic and pretty unnegotiatable skeleton; R:TW. The most common reason for CTD's in EB is something to do with rebellions in a settlement, and is explained many a time on this forum. Try searching for threads of similar problems, and their will likely be a sollution somewhere. Dont blame it on the EB team though, they do their utmost best, but some problems are just out of their hands. They will likely not respond if you post an unhelpful or attacking thread.

You can also take Lusted's advice and copy corrected_regions.tga to world/.../map_regions.tga, then rename map.rwm to something else. Reportedly it eliminates this sort of crash, and it will be done already for 1.2.

theres gonna be a 1.2? I thought you guys stopped working on EB 1 now? Or is this the patch that basically just contains major bug fixes and so on?

Hello, it was not meant as an attack you can understand my frustration. I tried to play three campaigns with version 1.0 and all crashed terminally before I finished them. I didn't want that to happen, I dl all the fixes and the game is working so much smoother.

I never attacked anyone, it just would have been extremely annoying to have to quit again.
