You are clicking the wrong thing.
EB 1.1 installer is not build using msi and thus doesnt require any msi file to work.

This is how you install EB.

    Preparation:
Install RTW, patch it to 1.3 and then 1.5 (If you have gold version you dont need the patches)
Download EB 1.1 (it will be EB1.1_setup.exe file I think)

    Installation:
Double click EB install file and fallow instructions.

Yeah, it's Rome I need to install first. It's not on my computer, but the RTW installer thinks it is, and tries to uninstall it instead of installing -- I have no idea how it's running through so many files that aren't even on the computer. I'm just wondering if anyone else here has ever seen that happen...

There are endless numbers of threads on how to completely delete RTW from your system, but suffice to say you need to delete the keys in the registry using regedit.

I do NOT answer PM requests for help with EB. Ask in a new help thread in the tech help forum.

Yeah, the other threads seem to all involve deleting creative assembly entries from the registry, as well as hand-deleting any left-over files. I've deleted the folders, and there's no creative assembly or rtw references in my registry. As far as I know, that means it _should_ be gone, but it's not. Ah well.
