And where exactly do you suppose these units will magically appear from? Making a unit's weapons change cannot be done just like that, it would require a whoe lot of pointless and hard work in the modding world that isnt worth it. And sword weilding Thorakitai? Try again

The Mak reformed phalanx is ONLY available with the vanilla marian reforms, so your question is a little confusing, care to elaborate?
Short_pikes attribute can be assigned via the EDU IIRC but I'm not sure if you'd have to change anything else or not.
And screw sword wielding Thorakitai, you've got access to THRACIANS :D

your right forget the swords but i still want some way to add the hoplite phalanx and heavy hoplite phalanx and if somehow galatian heavy swordsmen

There is a mod around here somewhere which exchanges pikes for short pikes...it might be one of konny's not sure. If it doesnt include the unit your after the code and how to do it should be included and easily to manipulate
