Pilum or javelin incendiary against the elephants

it would have to be easy… the flaming javelin as an example they were used in the Punic war...

it would appeal to see them to me at work in order to face the elephants

the Roman used the Pilum also in order to stop the cavalry charges........ inflicting many more damages than those which son represented in the game...

I'm sure it was a rare case, but it is a very interesting concept.

Its annoying how fire arrows dont set anything alight either. It would be cool if they set a settlement alight by firing into it over the walls-could be a sheer drop in morale for the enemy army.

A flaming arrow landing on a tiled roof wouldn't do much, but on a thatched roof...

If you really want to burn down buildings get some flaming artillery in there! I don't know if it affects morale, but it's flaming fun to do.

obviously it depended from the time that they had to make maneuver.

but if they succeeded to us before roman front line fixed the pilum for earth in order to be obstacle to the horses.
the successive lines above all launch the pilum against the horses. the catafratti ones to the charge imagined. that heaviest one probably came launch the third Pilum.

the horses came killed or hurt and collapsed to earth with the knights, making from obstacle the successive knights.

before the front line supplied to cancel the rest of the charge. the remaining cavalry came encircled and destroyed.

the flaming pilum came made in simple way: they came knotted of rags to the tip and ignited with the fire.
as I said they came used from the Roman in war II Punic war (but they learned very before perhaps with Pirro).

Hannibal launch its elephants against the trenches that besieged Taranto. the Roman answered with the flaming Pilum and the elephants did not make nearly damages.....

I knew the falarica, I am reading a book on the Punic wars and have read of the used falarica to Sagunto against Hannibal

but...............I have used the term " flaming Pilum" because I'm not sure that the Javelin used to Taranto against the elephants he is equal to the falarica that is much heavy one.

the falarica is an arm from siege launch from a position elevated to the low.

while the crews used against the elephants seem normal javelin heated, much lighter, and launch also from the low, not necessarily from elevated position.

Vegezio in its work of written military technique towards the 370 d.C.:

"The falarica is un' auction pierced with a vigorous iron in top, sulfur full load, resin, bitumen, and oakum instilled of incendiary oil, which, pulled with the fury of the crossbow, breaks off blankets and thrust oneself burning in the wood thick times set fire to the towers."

I do not want to exclude nothing…. however to the falarica they have already thought others to us:

it would have to be the Mod that regards the wars between the Iberian tribes, not memory the name.

I hope also that the Falariche or flaming the pilum they come introduced in E.b.

but I would want that one distinguished between these two types of crews

Iberia: Total War, looking at the way they've done it makes it seem like it does indeed work on a "flaming + weapon" mechanic as you suggested (although I could only manage about thirty minutes of ITW before I crawled back to EB so I'm not 100% on that :p)
