    The Swedish model

A Swedish firm has worked out how to make money running free schools
Interesting read. Any Swedes care to comment on it?

Kid enters R.E class and sits down...

"on the first day McDonalds created the earth...."

Kid then makes his way to chemistry

"ronald mcdonald discovered the atom back in 19...."

Kid gets changed and heads out for his P.E lesson

"these big macs give you all the nessecary vitamins and energy for a full day of exercise..."

anyway in all seriousness the bit you showed was slightly misleading... the state reimburses them for what they would have cost had they gone to state schools...

How is the vouching system in the US?

Here it's basically that everyone's education gets payed by the state, no matter what you go (with the exception of private schools, which are different from free schools and not part of the basic public education (think car schools and simular)).

Personally I'm not so insighted in the free school system, more that they are notable in popping up everywhere. Not particullary fond of it, but I'll await more information before giving a judgement.
We are all aware that the senses can be deceived, the eyes fooled. But how can we be sure our senses are not being deceived at any particular time, or even all the time? Might I just be a brain in a tank somewhere, tricked all my life into believing in the events of this world by some insane computer? And does my life gain or lose meaning based on my reaction to such solipsism?

Well, the few places it has been done, I believe every family who sends their children to an accepted private school gets a tax break worth the cost of educating them in the public schools. I'm not certain of that, though.

Here's free (aka taxpayed) education considered a cornerstone on how to build our society by all major parties (even if the right likes free schools) so it's pretty universal. Thus you cannot really lobby for it, as it comes with your licence to start a free school.
