Thread: Raiding

    Default Raiding

For some factions, there are certain settlements that the player must raid in order to win. I wanted to ask what is it specificaly that I would need to do for it to be considered a "raid". Do I just execute the population and hold the province for a turn? or are there other buildings that I must destroy as well. Also if i do execute the population and destroy the specific buildings ( if there are specific buildings that need to be destroyed) can I hold on to the province and still be considered a raid?

    Thank you in advance

Raiding? I think you just have to capture the settlements. I think Raid/Capture are the same thing in this case. Don't quote me on it. Someone else might know more. I've just never heard of the term "Raiding" a city in EB.

I pretty sure raiding means you need to have owned it at somepoint, doesn't matter how long you own it

For Armenia, the victory conditions are to capture certain settelemnts, and to raid other certain settlements.

So with "raiding" there are no specific buildings to destroy, or execute the population?

Also If I want I can hold the settlement, I dont have to necassarly leave it after a certain amount of turns?

I wouldn't know much of anything about it. I've never played a HA faction so these types of victory conditions are new to me.

You just have to capture (not hold, just take by force) it with an army. Not sure if bribery counts; places taken by Force Diplomacy certainly don't.

Ask Konny. He is the Grand Knower of all things Roman, and the Romans must "raid" several settlements to obtain VCs. That's my two cents. Ask Konny.

Capturing = Capture and hold the settlement
Raiding = capture the settlement, but you can abandon it. You can also choose to hold it.

For "raiding" you must have conquered the town once in your campaign but must not hold it in the last turn of your game to fullfill the VCs. That's basicaly raiding: take it, exterminate the population, tear down every building and then abandon the place the next turn and leave it to its fate.

That's also a good way to prevent from overexpanding: instead of conquering every village your opponent holds, and so expand into regions where you don't want to be, raid the bordering towns that way and leave him with some useless villages full of unhappy people. Sometimes you can also exchange a ceasefire for one of these raided towns.
