Well, I spoke to Moros, and it could have something to do with the traits.

Well, it will be great if we could play Pergamon or Bosphorus, please keep this mod alive
Is the Pergamon swap dead then Hax? I have tried quite a few campaigns and it always seems to crash at a different point of the AI turn so it's difficult to know what the problem could be.![]()
Well, Pergamon is a bit of a weird situation, and I don't really have time to fix it now
However, I'm really looking for a Massilia historian.
This space intentionally left blank.
ok...Marseille was founded in 600 BC by Greeks as a trading port. It was overrun by Celts and then conquered by the Romans. During the Roman times, it was called Massilia.

You seem to have a problem with traits in the earlier posts here... Just to remind you of the trait&ancillary validation program you can get from the EB SVN. Change the path in the java file to where you keep your files and it will say which references are invalid. MSN me if you need help.

Having problems getting EB2 to run? Try these solutions.

I do NOT answer PM requests for help with EB. Ask in a new help thread in the tech help forum.

I am sure alot of people would not be interested in this swap. But I know there would be at least a few. Perhaps switching Lusotann to Goidlic- Assuming they have the access to their ethnic traits and units. It would create the much needed competition in the isles which the Casse so desperately need. in my experience lusotann never tips a war in anyones favour(sound familiar? *COUGH*FRANCE*COUGH COUGH*). And rome steams over them whether theyve got the peninsula or not. I think you'd also need to change the general unit to Dubosaverlacica (Ebherni Armoured Shock Infantry), Eiras (Goidilic Noble Infantry) or the caledonian cavalry (since ireland lacks a heavy cavalry unit and Scotland and Ireland shared very similar cultures compared with the rest of the isles.) Argyn Marca (Caledonian Noble Cavalry)
if nobody is actually interested, could you help me through it Hax? on PM's of course.
Thanks mate.

did you read my post? its just changing the general unit and the location of the faction (plus i think youd have to change the script location. i could do the unit changes, its not that hard honestly. its just finding the exact line you need and copy n pasting.
plus on the OP it says "give me suggestions"
dont troll lobf... its just bad form

well im sorry then.. actually the shock infantry shouldnt be the general unit anyway... they'd be just ordinary(though kickass) infantry. What do you have against them anyway? its kind of sad that they are disabled...

Irish warriors were armed with whatever they could muster, hammers, swords(if your family was lucky enough to have one), and mostly spears. The most experienced warriors would have a higher position in the society, and would be able to afford better weapons and armour. by logic they could exist... archaeological evidence is found more by chance and luck than we hope. The thing is they most likely would not organise their elite soldiers into one big unit, and they definately would not all be armed with hammers. But then again, you wouldnt have units with all swords either. its the limitation of the engine. due to that limitation all celt units are therefore inaccurate. and therefore by your logic none should be included in the game. i know im not going to change anyones mind, but i must say my piece de resistance, as you'd probably understand lobf. even still i retract what i said about suggesting them as a general unit.
on another note, do you think a goidlic faction would be included in EB II? probably a whole lotta factions are ahead of them I bet. ohwell im allowed my wishful thinking.

[Fudge], I thought I responded to this days ago...
Anyways. I'm not arguing your basic, irrelevant, description of social/military dynamics. All I'm saying is that those units have no data supporting their existence in this time frame. Yes, they "could" have existed. Anything "could" have existed. But I don't think that's the criteria for something making it's way into this game.
IIRC some of that gear was found in Ireland, albeit way out of our time period.
And I don't think there will be a Goidilic faction in EBII. It would sure be cool to be able to play as my ancient ancestors, but I seriously doubt there's enough information on the inhabitants of those Isles to support another faction. IMHO there's not enough info from that era to support a single British faction.

=============================================================================
Many tribes were allied under the Belgae confederation, the first of which we will start are the Nervii.
Nervii: They were one of the most important tribes, reportedly with Germanic roots, whose capital was situated at Bagacum [or Bagacos in the Celtic language]. Gaius Iulius Caesar wrote about them in his Commentaries on the Gallic wars, calling them "the most war-like of all the Belgic tribes", which quite states the point, seeing that the Belgians were renowned for their ferociousness. They joined the revolt of Ambiorix and his Eburones in 53 BCE who were eventually crushed by Caesar himself.
Eburones: Also an important tribe, who were Celto-Germanic, according to recent evidence found by archaeologists. As stated before, their leaders Ambiorix and Cativolcus started a revolt against the Roman rule, and massacred nearly 6,000 Roman legionaries, also taking a legionary eagle with them. They were situated mostly between the Rhine and the Maas rivers, near the Menapii tribe.
Menapii: A Celtic tribe, situated in modern-day Flanders, as well as Bren (Britain). Their capital lay at Ternacum, also known as Castellum Turnacensium. The Menapii were in constant conflict with the German tribes, who in 55 BCE crossed the Rhine to attack a severely weakened Menapii tribe, causing them to retreat further south. They were renowned for their boats, as well as their trade in salt. They were eventually defeated by the same Gaius Iulius Caesar (busy chap, that) in 53 BCE.

Playing as the Belgae, you start out only with Bagacos in Nervaea Belgica. You have two small forces to your north and south, seperated by the river Rhine.
Your general's bodyguard are the Brihentin, the same as those of the Arverni and Aedui.

Nice one Hax, thought you'd given up on this.
edit: I see he has the night fighter trait, does that mean BI is required?

Working on that, heh.
I'm playing on ALX.exe myself, and I'll have to remove that trait manually, but I'll do that when I add in the Belgic ethnicity traits.

Just unpack the .rar file into your /EB folder.
I have no clue. I think so.

New campaign description and VCs don't seem to work, I still have the old Casse ones. Everything else seems ok, played a few turns without problems. It may be an idea to change their relations with the Eleutheroi though.
I'll look into that, Olaf.

I know about the campaign description, trying to fix that. The relations will probably also be changed.
The victory conditions should work ingame, I just haven't changed the advisor text.
