CA is apparently making a post-apocalyptic-future RTS called "Stormrise." Trailer here:
http://www.gametrailers.com/player/36013.html?type=
It doesn't look to much like Total War from a gameplay perspective (looks quite suspect, actually

) but that's just extremely early impressions of a trailer for E3.
EDIT: Ah, it's for consoles as well as PC. No wonder it's looking sub par. Oh well. Hopefully it sells well with the masses so CA can work on the good stuff.
that looks like fun and something i would buy.
it is a pity that CA dont actively use the fansites to promote such things, our members have to find them by chance and luck. i guess 2k+ distinct bona fide visitors every single day is not enough exposure...
(for every member there are 2 visitors=not=logged=in (and 1 robot))
and lord alone knows how many others only go to the website,
Is it really a CA production or is a SEGA production using CA fame?
EDIT: Is this a EA game? First, there is a Nod Buggy, second, the helicopters use a similar impulse system like the VTOL Orca helicopter?

Wow that looks great, especially if it uses a Company of Heroes style cover system - and its on 360 aswell!!
Reminds me of Ground Control actually.

That's a good thing but what I mostly hope now is that those animations in the trailer aren't final.

It's been quite a long while since CA stopped making good stuff.

Oh I don't know - I come up with a good line every once in a while.
I'll get my coat.

I just wonder....why would CA get so low? To the level of the pathetic basebuilding Dune2 clo(w)nes?
I just wonder...where does it mention base building?
After playing CA's last console game, Viking: Battle for Asgard (which you can read my official review here at the .org!) the biggest disappointment for me was the fact that I had no control of my allies. Granted, it wasn't really the selling point of the game but once I got in game and was surrounded by massive amounts of troops. It just rang of a great concept with missed opportunities.
Here it looks like the scale has been toned back a bit, going from thousands back to hundreds, however considering that the scope seems to have shifted from personal combat to squad tactics I can without hesitation excuse the shift in scale. Though I'm a bit.. put off by the fact they are going with a post-apocalyptic setting for the game because I mean come on, how many times have we seen those in the last few years? OTOH a ground level RTS that, from all indications, is actually playing
well on a console? If CA can pull that last gem off (and that's the key, making the RTS control scheme work with the controller) then I'll gladly forgive the setting.

FYI Stormrise is being made in the Australian CA office, the same place that did Medieval II and Kingdoms. This means it has no impact on the development of UK products such as Empire: Total War. OK?

Awesome! That means if I go all splinter cell I can secretly survey how its going!
Hello,
I think the best place would be the Arena. We can decide to create a Stormrise forum if we find out more about it.
