    Default i need help...

    sorry to ask but i don't seem too be able too locate a search tool on this forum.

    i have windows vista and its giving me a massive amount of trouble installing EB. my machine can easily handle the size and everything but for the life of me it won't work.

    So far i've installed Rome, patched it to 1.5, then downloaded EB and tried to locate what i thought was the romeTW.exe (it didn't say that exact title... it said "data" and had all the rome data in it....) ran the installer and it wouldn't launch after the installer finished.

    i've done this about 6 times now, with varitions installing BI and uninstalling everything and installing it again under the generic C: folder so that it wasn't under program files, then i've tried to search you forum for a solution but i'm not about to spend 5 hours searching every topic for help... at this point i have BI uninstalled, rome installed and patched to version 1.5 (no idea where the romeTW.exe file is still) and the EB files saved to my hard drive but not playable

    rtw.exe is located in Rome - Total war folder , wich is located in your activision folder /or creative assembly (depends on your version)

    yo have to install EB in your Rome - Total war folder not Rome vanilla data directory

    If you changed your Explorer settings to show file extensions (there is absolutely no reason not to, and damn Microsoft for hiding them in the first place), you will find RomeTW.exe, it's just above the data folder (you will see the data folder when it's the right one). If you haven't changed that setting however, you will only see RomeTW, and it will have a red icon with laurels on it.

    You should be able to simply move the EB folder from Data to your RTW folder. You'll have to install the trivial script again though, to point it to the right folder.

    Having problems getting EB2 to run? Try these solutions.

    ok, i keep getting two errors.... they read;

    "Destination directory is not valid. Please choose folder where Rome Total War was installed. Do you want to proceed (click yes only if you have expected this error)?"

    the second one is "It is not recommended to install Europa Barbarorum in Program Files Folder. Do you really want to proceed?"

    both of those errors appearing after folling your advice and locateing the folder (and path) of "C:\Program Files (x86)\The Creative Assembly\Rome - Total War"

    god this worked fine on my pre-vista computer!

    Do NOT ignore those error messages. Bad Lz3 !

    Using Vista, you need to move your RTW installation to somewhere outside of Program Files. The best way is to copy the whole RTW folder someplace else (such as to c:\Games\EB), and then install EB to the same location.
