Thread: Titles and Cities.

    Default Titles and Cities.

    in BC, do the city governor titles, being ancillaries, die with the character that bears them, and be lost, like "ducks limes brittannicorum" in BI? or do they regenerate afterwards when a new gov'nor is posted?

    how about certain bonus titles like the ones that come with Baghdad or Khwarmarishah (sp?). are the factions that start with these provinces set to automatically fight for them, (even if they say become a vassal/) and do vassals ever attack their liege?
    But vain the spear and vain the bow,
    They never can work War's overthrow;
    The hermit's prayer and the widow's tear
    Alone can free the world from fear

    The governor titles in BC are transferable ancillaries - so you can swap them to a younger FM if the holder is reaching a grand old age - just pop the new guy in the same city or stack and click, drag and drop them them across onto his unit card.

    I think (but haven't tested it), that even if the ancillary dies with the holder, a new guy can get it by spending a sufficient amount of time governing that city.

    I don't think a vassal can attack their liege if the vassal is AI controlled - but in hotseat play there is nothing preventing it..

    I haven't tested either, but I have noticed that after a certain time spent in a settlement, that ancillary is then passed on to the new character.

    It is wierd though, because it's almost like certain settlements do not have governor ancillaries.

    I got a bunch of them playing BC as Seljuks, Abbasids and Ghorids

    You can even stack them onto one character for uber-trade bonuses, as they seem to give the bonus to any city the character sits in, not just the one for which the title is granted.

    If so then I should keep some of my generals in cities and collect those titles

    Perhaps I haven't got them because I tend to use my generals on the field more than I use them as governors...

    It's just that in cities you will get a lot of bad traits

    Or is it different in BC??
