I use DS's mod, but that only changes the Imperial one.

In fact, as of 1.0 the Marian guys, as well as the Augustan ones were already completely redone to correct the (numerous?) glitches which for some reason persisted earlier. I suggest checking you're actually using the Vanilla EB 1.1 ones, not other ('deprecated' or fan-made) ones.
I thought the only units that received a change was the Imperial legionaries...
Would it be possible for you to post a screenshot of the Marian legionaries?
