I have noticed strange behaviour about some rebels:

    1. Rebels withdrawing to other rebel provinces
    2. Rebels withdrawing while outnumbering loyal forces 10 to 1
    3. Rebels becoming loyal again after some years
    4. Rebels attacking other faction provinces

Please confirm if you have experienced those or similar things.

    1. Yeah, noticed this myself a lot too. I think it has somthing to do that a rebel faction holds two different countries.

    1. rebels are effectivly 1 faction in the game so they can withdraw to friendly territory.
    2. Never seen it
    3. Have seen this, can't really explain it, but the only time i've had it happen to me i think was when i had been ex-commed and was re-communicated, possibly in civil war if you kill the rebel leader you will get all their lands back.
    4. What's wrong with that? They do rarely attack, but if you are at war with rebels they'll sometimes do this.

the strange thing about 1. is that the rebels have a different name at first but turn to the same type when withdrawing.

Well, 3. happened to me when I was fighting the Almos. I had Portugal rebeling against them, but after a few years they were loyal again.

Nothing wrong with 4. principally, was just strange as the Turkish empire fell apart but the rebels acting very much like the original faction (and becoming Turkish again later without "faction reappeared").

I wonder about 3. Did they have a civil war and the rebels won? hence they stayed grey/rebels but when their king died of old age became official again.

I think rebels just have the name of the province they are in at the time.

Also, is it possible that the Almohads merely bribed these Porteguese rebels? That could explain how they were 'gray' and then 'changed back'. *shrugs* Just a thought.

I found out why 2. happens, and so...

HOW TO MAKE INCREDABLE LARGE REBEL ARMIES!!!

my example is as follows: the kalifah is trapped in Leon with his son, Cordoba and Portugal are mine, I`m neutral and Castile is rebel. If the kalifah and his son would die, it would start a civil war. So I send enough spies into Leon to cause rebellion. The rebel army appears, the kalifah flees to the keep but attacks the rebels after one year siege. His 165 men against 959 rebels, most of them Murabitin, and the rebels withdraw to Castile!!
This happens every time. So I can start another rebellion in Leon and they withdraw to Castile again. Meanwhile there are 3000 rebels in Castile!

Still no idea why 3. happens but it wasn`t civil war. Maybe the AI does bribe rebels sometimes.
