Thread: ChangingImperator Italicus?

    Default ChangingImperator Italicus?

I recently made Italian Generals recruitable in Rome, and I found that effectively, these are Campaignian Cavalry under a different name. I believe that this is fairly unrealistic, as if they were recruited by the state, suely the state would provide the armour?
But anyway, I'm going to change these so that they're effectively a SLIGHTLY weaker version of Eqvites Consvlares. I'm guessing all that's needed would be to change some text files, probably EDU and some others. I honestly though, don't know where to start, so If someone can point me in the right direction, I will be most grateful.
    Cheers,
    Roriniho

The file you are probably looking for should be export_descr_units.txt (or EDU for short). Read the descriptions for particular entries at the top of the file, than try to search for "Imperator Italicus" or "Italian general" or whatever the name is and tweak the numbers accordingly.
Or even replace it with the values for "Equites Consulares" - including the references to texture and model files. It should give you them as the recruitable generals in Italy. I do not have the acces to the EDU right now, but once you orient yourself a bit in the file, it should become pretty straightforward.

    God luck!

Okay, Cheers, my Initialed friend. I'll have a look when I get back home. Incidentally, do I have to change any back-ups, because I vaguely remember one having to do so in order to play online.
