Cake or pie?

I don't really get the difference, even the translation seems to be the same, so I voted Gah!

Pies are cooked in crusts, and are filled with some sort of fruit (apple, cherry, etc.) or other appropriate filling (ranging from pumpkin to the delectable innards of a pecan or custard pie.)

Cakes are bigass piles of sweet breading with some frosting.

(Plus pie can be used as a sexual euphemism.)
