    Thumbs up A Cool Situation!

Anyways, in this rather pointless thread, I thought that I might share this cool situation in my campaign right now:

So, for the first time in EB 1.1, I thought I'd give the Romani a try in the campaign. Of course, I decided twist history and migrated to the Baltic with Caivs Aurelivs Cotta and start anew, with a small legion that was quickly disbanded to bring up the population in my new homeland, effectively leaving everyone else in Italy to be slaughtered by Epeirotes, Aedui, and Rebels. Now that's cool. Anyways, to make it cooler still, that northern town I captured, a bit to the east of the Sweboz homeland, but to the west of the steppes, I renamed Nova Roma (New Rome). That, also, is cool. Furthermore, Cotta had a couple sons to carry on his legacy (yeah, cool), and someone else was brought into the family with a COOL name: Tiberivs Valerivs Maximvs. Yeah, very cool!

Now, this last cool event was what inspired me to make this thread: Tiberivs Valerivs Maximvs married to some random woman, who (very soon. Damn, they were busy!) gave birth to a son: Tiberivs. Now that is sweet! Tiberivs' first son is named after him. I thought that was awesome. A dude with a cool-sounding name gave his son the same cool-sounding name. As a result, I now have two full generations of EB gameplay to enjoy these awesome dudes with cool-sounding names. That is glorious!

PS: My army is composed of Baltic troops, along with small auxiliary forces of those tough Scandinavian spearmen, Germans, and Celts. Cool, eh?

If it gets any cooler than this, I'm gonna go buy a lamb and offer it in sacrifice to the glory of EB.

Migrate to the Baltic? What the hell can you do there, anyway?

Compared to Italy, the Baltic is . . . cool.

Thumbs up Re: A Cool Situation!

I thought I took some screens of my half-dead army in their fort near the Sweboz capital, but for whatever reason, it wasn't in the "tgas" folder when I checked it out afterwards. Ah well, that can wait. Here's my in-game family:

Only the third son of the faction leader (Caivs Aurelivs Cotta) is adopted, the rest, including the dead one, are his natural sons. The eldest (and dead) dude was Publivs Aurelivs Cotta, the second is Numerivs Aurelivs Cotta, and the youngest is Titvs Aurelivs Cotta. Tiberivs Valerivs Maximvs is the faction heir, and his son of the same name is currently fighting against the Sweboz with almost everyone else, except for his dad and Numerivs.

Oh yeah, that dude who is somehow connected to the family tree, though nobody knows how, is me! Cool, eh?

EDIT: Oh yeah, the date is 247 B.C. (it's Aestas... what is that, Autumn, or something?)

Quite cool man, I must admit. The whole thing, that is. But you shouldn't have changed the city's name, messes up the script that has every town with it's original name. Though I'm not sure if it counts when the city is owned by the AI in the beggining...

Enable city name changing in the preferneces folder, but as has been said it can muck up the script. By the way, @Methuselah, cool.

Thumbs up Re: A Cool Situation!

Yeah, I renamed most of my new cities to make them seem less barbaric, and if I get a CTD as a result, well, who cares? I don't take this campaign too seriously, as it's merely a fun break from my more slow-paced, serious campaign(s).

EDIT: Heh. All those old Italian cities I checked out on the map, which are owned by the Aedui, are "barbarized". I was hoping that would happen. The Aedui built them up, and Roma could be mistaken for any other city in Transalpine Gaul.
