Carthage actually landed a decent sized stack in Italy...

I watched as the stack was recruited in Iberia as the fleet moved over to pick them up. It seemed like the AI actually had a purpose in what it was doing...

Yeah I've seen it also, In my current campaign Makedonia has made several Invasions of Rhodios, the last city of the KH.

Though if its anything like the Rhodios situation both sides will just bugger about without doing much.

    From my old Seleukeia campaign:

I love playing with BI.exe, because usually around 220 bc onwards is when things get really insteresting, at least with naval invasions Those stacks came straight from Karthage and eight turns later they took Baikor and Arse.

Does ALEX have as many naval invasions as BI (and are they full stacks or a few solitary units)?

Well, ALEX AI does use naval invasions but as a defensive mechanism, AFAIK. This means that they will ship troops to an endangered area as a mean to defend it, though they will never do it as a mean to invade a hostile area. As for the army quality that gets shiped, I'm not sure but I think it shoud look better than in BI (at least in he first yeas, that is).

    Hope this helped,

expect high elite stacks of well balanced troops that are full stacked attackign u after u invaded a opposing nation with a good navy

    lemme tell u
i ahnilated Koinon hellene and force migrated epirote to pergamon (lol bribed city from selekuid and gave it to them fora ceasfire then sent pyrhos and any other roaming general to it , gave them it and then took their homeland LOL

well i secured it all and i was @ 195bc in alexander exe, idecided to invade the anatolion area but by then.... epirote conqured up to coucasis, what it happened was epic
they besieged the seleukid settlement above cyrene with a decent full stack and i landed my elite veteren stack unit next to it in 3 turns..
BAM - a full seleukid army with a 6 star general full of thorikita, theurophia, syrian archer, agryspida, hydaspist , peltesti makedonia, hetairo, landed and attacked the opposing stack and i was sent as reinforcement, god damn i saw that stack get picked up out of antiocheia (cant spell that city name)
they were epic on that 4 unti stacks converged and met up from babylon and the egyption border
now... im kicking pontic ass Lol...was an epic 9480 men battle, epic battle

if u invade a sea faring nation in alexender exe, make sure u got a lot of reinforcements :)

I found this to be the case too with Alex.exe. It seems to be almost entirely defensive; however, BI is primarily offensive in nature. Also, If you stick with BI after 230-20 B.C. then the invasions will get... well... lets just say challenging. lol
