    It's not a bug, it's a feature.
    That is Xanthippos, a spartan mercenary who reformed the carthaginian military in the time of the first punic war and defeated the romans in battle. He is scripted to appear.

    Pretty cool. I thought it was a bug or odd AI quirk, neat to know that it was planned.
