That's a little trickier to answer, since I'm not a modder myself. What I *can* tell you is that I've not had any problems running my newer games with the older drivers, at least thus far. [Martok knocks on wood and keeps his fingers crossed]

I will, however, also add the caveat that most of my games don't really tax my video card that heavily -- I don't own a lot of graphics-intensive titles. What few *do* tax it, though, run on my PC without any major issues.

So to answer your question in a nutshell: Yes, you'd probably be okay, but I can't say for certain. I apologize that I can't give you a more definite answer than that.

I put it in here to ask what was wrong with my computer...the other question was an afterthought. But I will heed your advice. (and I have a sneaky feeling I will hae to use it...though I truly hope that I do not...)
