Consistent CTD on Loading Screen

Hi. I'm running R:TW Gold (v 1.5) and EB v 1.1. To be brief, I get a CTD as soon as the game has finished loading. After the intro cinematics, I hit the loading screen, and once the bar fills, I hear two notes of music, and then CTD. I have done all the suggested permanent fixes and have tried adding the "mod:eb -nm" command to the target on the shortcut (I know that's not exact command; when I tried it, I used the exact phrasing as written on the forums). No luck with either- actually the game crashes earlier when I add the mod command. I'm running Windows XP, an unmodded RTW, not installed in Program Files, and R:TW runs just fine. Any thoughts on what could be the problem? I've seen some people reference the same problem on the forum, but I haven't found the thread with the solution- so a link to that would be great as well. Thanks a lot guys, I'm really looking forward to playing the mod.

You've tried much of what you can, but there are still a couple of things you should try in the validation thread (found through the sticky with all the links).
