using the KH there are 2 types of bodyguards, regular greek ones and spartan hoplites. its not race that decides this, so what is it? only the King and heir?

Only certain starting characters have the spartans. Don't they have spartian or something as ethincity? Anyway other generals will have the epilektoi (spelling?) IIRC.

FM that are spartans receive Spartiatai Hoplitai
the non spartans receive the other type of bodyguard which i forgot how to spell.

It does, however, apply only to the start of the game, as all additional FMs will get the Somatophylakes Strategou, because the game only allows the customization of starting body guards.Originally Posted by Havok.

Exactly, as Lysimachos said, only starting FM who have the ''Spartiates'' trait will have Spartans as bodyguards. Their kids will have Epilektoi, sadly.

is there anyway to change this so that all KH have spartan bodyguards? i dont want to looose them :(
