    Default Special Request

I recently install patch 1.3, but was very disappointed that CA didn’t address some of the nagging issue with incorrect armored upgrade and unrecruitable units such as the dismounted gothic foot knight for HRE or the dismounted broken lance for Venice. It has come to the modding community to resolve this. Sometime I think the extractor is there so we can fix the game ourselves. It’s joke of course, but there is some truth to that.

I want to make a special request. Can you make a version of your mod where only the following are change.

1.) make recruitable the unrecruitable units in custom battle
    -- dismounted gothic knights (HRE)
    -- dismounted broken lance (Venice)
    -- Janissary Heavy Infantry (Turks)
    -- Armored sergeant (England)
    -- Gendarmes (France)
-- dismounted conquistador (Spain and Portugal)

2.) make correct the armored upgrade and actual model. For example, the Venetian archers lost their armor when they get an armor upgrade and is actually wearing armor without an upgrade. I don’t know if this happen to any other units, but it would be nice if this is fix.

That’s it, I don’t want any additional change or tweak in AI, statistic, income, or any other balancing issue. I like vanilla M2TW just fine the way it is. Can you make a special version with just the requested changes?

It is actually really easy to do this stuff yourself, dude.

Just open your Medieval directory (C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\data or wherever else you installed it) and open up the file export_descr_unit.txt (make sure you've unpacked it first - see thread https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=76289). The file has instructions on editing already in it, so you shouldn't have much trouble figuring it out. Just be sure to make yourself a backup in case you screw up.
