Thread: Post-Marian crash

    Default Post-Marian crash

I recently got the Marian Reforms. However, the turn later, the game crashed showing a "Runtime error with Rome: Total War". It is always triggered on the Pahlava turn, and seems to be caused by one of their generals who is trotting around without a banner in his hand. And no, I don't have the latest client-ruler fix installed. It came out well after I started this campaign and I didn't want to repeat all my progress. Has anybody heard of this and can you give me advice on where to upload my savegame? Assuming of course that anyone is willing to help a poor idiot without all the proper fixes. . .

This clones & bannerless armies issue is something we don't know how to fix, but removing the client ruler part of the script seems to help some. In some cases it has also worked to teleport it away to a remote island, you can try that.

Well, I don't want to get rid of client rulers and I'm not sure I quite understand your advice about teleporting. Anyhow, this "Runtime error" has been a common experience of mine and I wonder if others have encountered the same thing. Furthermore, it seems impossible to work around. Will keep trying on my own. Thanks.

    Teleport:
    Code:
    move_character "<name>" <x>, <y>
Where name is the name of the guy that is a clone/bannerless, x is the x coordinate on the map and y is the y coordinate on the map.

See the frequent issues for more information about it, concerning the name. If this doesn't get you past the crash, you'll have to revert to an older save or start a new campaign.

Many thanks, bovi. I teleported him off to somewhere this morning, really don't know where, but he's gone and so is the CTD. Thanks for the assist.
