Thread: Map information request (EB team?)

Default Map information request (EB team?)

I'm currently making a mod that will begin around the time of alexander and ending with the fall of the Roman Empire for Europa Universalis 3, and I was wondering since this is sort of the mod's focus, could you guy point me towards historical maps I could use for the time period, for anywhere in the world? I'd like to ask least shoot for some historical accuracy in making the map provinces, but I'm not sure where to find that many maps that would be of anything more than marginal use. There's generic indicators, but I've found nothing detailed enough to give me anything resembling the map EB currently uses for gaul and germany, besides using the game map as a reference for provinces.

Online sources would be ideal, but if you could point me towards a very useful book or two, that would work as well. The map will be of the entire earth, not just EB's scope, so any source for the timeperiod would be good.

    Thank you.

I think you'll have a hard time obtaining maps of the entire world from that period. But Europe and possibly east Asia should be possible.

Having problems getting EB2 to run? Try these solutions.

These should be a great place to start. There are some mistakes but those are minor.

They are indeed a nice start, but while it details the peoples, I was hoping to find maps that also include any fair sized city, since so far it'd be mostly a shot in the dark for where I might draw provinces for German tribes, or Gauls.

I'd consider it likely that there have been no detailed maps of those places due to the fact that the data is hard to discover. Especially, since there were no 'cities' in Germania, at least from the very basic point of view (and even more professionally, 330 BC seems a bit early).

The early Germans didn't even build oppida like their celtic neighbours, they all lived in small vici scattered in the countryside.
