What the heck is wrong...?

With my game? I have had TW Eras for quite a while and I've yet to experience this since the older versions of the game. I started a VI game and it worked fine for a long time, but oddly it all of a sudden crashed to the desktop. Now, I enter the main menu, try to start a completely new game, and when the loading bar loads fully, the game crashes to the desktop again. No error message, no nothing.

edit: Blah, it seems I can sometimes load a game but whenever it starts loading for a battle, it sometimes crashes to the desktop, too. Basically, it's now unplayable. :(
