Excuse me, I began a seleucid campaign a while ago and I have just constructed a quite advanced barrack in seleuceia. In thery this one shuold provide me with hellenic katapracts, but I can´t recruit the katapracts. I was just wondering if I was doing something wrong. Thanks

You need the reforms to trigger ( you got too lose two 2 battles to a faction with the Kats)

What is exactly a large battle, and has the enemy armies have to count with catafract units, or just have the unit among their options?¿

There have to be cataphracts in their stack as a unit. A large battle is probably 10 units or more, to be safe.
