Since you have to get 'battle points' to get higher rank then Incitatus might get them sooner than some others. And since he just needs 5 points - that is 2 heroic victories and up he goes

I believe you can, but before you choose, remember the consequences it'll have IC. Other players may find you to be a bit cruel for doing that, and can act against you because of it.

do you control settlements you conquer? campaigns are directed by the baselius right? so you cant just conquer a settlement unless the direction and strategy of the campaign is given to you? (like when the greeks elected Pericles to Strategos)

Exactly what WH said. If you conquer then it is your choice whether you occupy, expel or enslave the population.

do you control settlements you conquer? campaigns are directed by the baselius right? so you cant just conquer a settlement unless the direction and strategy of the campaign is given to you? (like when the greeks elected Pericles to Strategos)

If you conquer a settlement then it is up to Basileus whether he allows you govern the settlement or not. You are conquering in his name after all. If Regular Army is created then Basileus will give you the right to move them and fight with them. But you do not own that army. And yes, you can not go on a rampage and start conquering settlement after another. We need Edicts or declaration of war against AI factions that will give us direction where we go.

I have to mention this that the first Council session is actually one of the most important ones. There will be some who will be granted with the title of Satrap and some others will have the privilege to become Commanders of Regular Armies. Those who join later will have a bit harder to get something like that.

If you we already are at war with a faction then you can conquer as many settlements as you can. I meant that people can't start wars or something like that. Declaring a war is in the powers of Basileus and Royal Council via an Edict. But no simple Strategos can't do it.

Ok so we can conquer any settlement we want only if we are at war with that faction what about Eleutheroi settlements?

good call, I think since they are independant you have to declare war on each settlement. Also if you want to make an expedition deep into enemy territory (and not just a raid or attack on a bordering settlement/province) you should require your superior's approval... not a vote in the council, but just "hey mr satrap can i go sack memphis?" "why yes you can mr strategos!" im paraphrasing and adding a bit of jest, but you get the idea....

Also some people have to say in what settlement they want to be at the start of the game:Elite Ferret, kingsnake(was it Antiocheia?) and Merlox.

Those who 'will join later' can vote but they can't propose any Edicts/Amendments in Council Sessions.

Will characters have an army from start? Or will we have to wait for recruitment?
If I have to wait for recruitment put me in the city north of Tarsos and south of Pontos I thinks it's Massaka.
If not put me right at most western point of Antiocheia's region.

Hey I noticed Mikro Asia is a bit overcrowded on avatars, if you think other regions are too deserted and need an avatar just ask me and I'll be glad moving position, I won't mind protecting Seleukeia's backside against baktrian and indian elefants or protecting our Caucasian territories... I just don't like fighting nomads their always running away with their ponies ... cowards ... >.>

No avatar will have an army at the start.
Also no ordinary avatar will have it's own army. They can command Regular armies with the Basileus' permission or Royal armies if Basileus or FH allow you to do it.

I'll open the first Council Session tomorrow.
Those who have not picked their avatars yet can do that during the Council Session. But I advise you take them before it and please mention in what settlement you like to start.
Once the first Council session is over we will make last moves with the save(move your avatars into the right settlements and so on) and publish it into the Basileus' and Chancellor Reports Thread so you can finally take the save and see 'our little empire'
