Thread: Two questions

    Default Two questions

They're totally unrelated, but I noticed them both at about the same time. I'm playing as Baktria, about 240BC now

    (1) I'm suffering a CTD every time I try to attack the Seleukids in Alexandropolis (Kandahar, southern Afghanistan). I think I might be able to outflank the CTD by waiting out the siege, but it's odd. Anyone else notice this? It's the only persistent CTD I've encountered so far, and I'm wondering if it's at all like the Alexandria CTD in Egypt.

    (2) What exactly does the script DO? I haven't received any fun announcements from the adviser, nor really noticed anything different except what appear to be spontaneously spawned killer AI stacks. One such Seleukid stack came marching out of the trackless desert to the EAST of Alexandropolis right in the middle of my siege (see above). Does the script give the AI a boost in this way?

    Thanks for any comments!

The Alexandria problem is a freeze, not a crash, so it's unrelated. You may have encountered a problem that I've seen earlier, that it crashes when showing something in the city in question. If you try to put a spy into (or close to the city and then double-click the settlement), does it crash then too? It appears to be something to do with the UI showing the city, if it's the same thing.

The script does not boost the AI in the form of faster travel or spawning of stacks (other than Moskon in Iberia and the defender eleutheroi stacks in central Europe). It does however boost the AI's economy, but that shouldn't be related. Possibly it was just hiding in ambush somewhere close.

Thanks for the response, Bovi. Yeah, my uneducated guess was an animation failure in the settlement graphics (which would bode ill for my strategy of forcing a sally), but my spies never encounter a problem in examining the settlement. Hm, well I guess I will keep experimenting. Perhaps Alexandrios is destined to be a lost outpost of the Seleukids for all time.
