I just saw the Battle Report about the Battle fought be Incitatus. I did not realized that his avatar was not present in Celtic Punks army. And because CP couldn't fight the battle then it should've been autoresolved! The Rules are pretty clear about that.

At the moment no one will get battle points from this battle but I'm not sure this will be the only punishment. I'll think about it. If you people don't want your avatar to be attacked when you are away then make sure he is out of touch from enemy armies until you come back.

Sorry about that guys, I forgot that I had to go down to Jersey. And I thought that Inicutututus would be in my army for a possible attack on my army.

I asked him to take care of it for me in my absence, since I couldn't even get to a computer to check the forums.

I have thought about that incident and my decision is this - Celtic Punk and Incitatus will loose all of their battle points.

Please, don't take it personally. I understand how this thing happened and it's good to know that CP's avatar did not die there but the Rule is there for a reason. You should take care of your avatar.
Now, this goes to all of you, if you have to go away and can't play the game then move your avatar to a safe place or ask someone to do it for you. Second option is that you can let someone else join with yourself and that way there is someone who can fight battles for you.

I hope this will not ruin the game for you CP and Incitatus?

Obviously I am not the one who decides punishments, but I do think it is a little unfair. Celtic Punk didn't really do anything wrong. First of all he was unable to move his avatar to safety, but he assumed that if he was attacked I would have already reached his army. As it turned out I had not quite reached him when he was attacked, but maybe some people thought I had and I was told that I had a battle. In the back of my mind I was aware of the rule but for some reason it didn't click and so I fought the battle I was asked to fight. So if punishments are going to be given they should only be to me (but for what its worth I had no intent to break a rule/cheat the system and profit from it, I just wasn't thinking).

But if we are taking the rules very seriously, it would be easy to 'rewind' and let Celtic Punk fight his battle. Everybody can learn from this mistake and be sure to pay attention to the rules in future. If everyone is so committed to the rules then I am sure that the few people who have done moves would be willing to do them over once we get straight.

I guess you are right.
So, Celtic Punk will have his battle points intact but will not receive any from that battle.
But Incitatus will loose all of his battle points.

Actually I haven't joined up yet, -45% winter movement penalty is a killer. I'll be there for sure next turn, but go ahead and attack if you want. The pontic king is the only garrison and only has 20 or so bodyguards.

All the 3 Satraps, 00jebus, kingsnake and I think there was someone else. I can't check my notes since they are in another pc and I'm using my wifes laptop. Basiclly everyone who are higher than Strategos.

Anyway, I'll mention this also that the current rank system does not satisfy me. I plan to propose a CA with some new ranks and some changes to the old ones. I'll try to do that tomorrow.

If you are going after a territory that is demanded to be taken by an edict (in this case 4.3 if it passes) or direct order of the Basileus, you are assumed to have permission as long as you are not relieved of your command.
