You're the attacker, and thus not attacking would cause your soldiers to lose respect for you, and 90% would desert and join my side instead.

Of course, since you specified "across the bridge", there's another possibilty: try to swim over. Of course, you will have to sacrifice 50% of your army to the river gods for safe passing, and then 40% will drown anyway.

(I just love making up these consequences! Somehow they always turn out to be in my favour.)

Actually, you'll lose less if you try to swim, because the 40% who drowns would be 40% of the survivors from the sacrificial slaughter, and not from the bigger, original group. You'd save about 20% that way - and that is the blessing of the gods. Of course, you'd get wet and so you'd risk catching a cold.

Now, I think I have most of the things ready for this battle. I just need to add Hippeis Thessalonikoi to Arche's unit list and Persian Archers to Ptolemaioi unit list(They were not there in MP). So, tomorrow, when I come back from work, I'll set up the battle thread and send all of you, who are involved in this battle, their units and map.

I don't want to screw up my first tabletop battle hosting.

well TCV, this is it. The Final countdown, no going back and all that. No matter how this turns out I had a lot of fun with my little rebellion, and I think I may have made the future of the Arche very different. it is going to take some time for you to put the pieces of this back together!
