The conquest of Pontus is taking to much time, we really should be quicker in future wars. I moved the Syrian army into Mazaka town.

At the moment Alerion is right. Merlinus allowed him to move that spy but did not mention how long or where he can move him.

I probably should have been more clear on the duration of the agent usage, but I reasonably expected that the spy would be used until either his portion of the Ptolemaic campaign was completed (I still have to offer a peace treaty to the Ptolemaioi after they have been punished enough per Edict 3.2) or, if something came up that the spy was needed elsewhere, I'd send a messenger (IC) to relieve him of the spy and resume control myself. In any case, it would only be while I was serving as chancellor, once a new chancellor was elected, he would have to abide by the wishes of the new chancellor, including the rule as written unless otherwise permitted by the chancellor.

So, until further notice or upon the election of a new chancellor.

Hey, all! I was wondering: How does one resolve a multi-character battle??

If you mean when more than one avatar is present in an army then player of the commanding avatar will fight the battle. If he can't then the other player will fight it.

If you mean player vs player battles in case of a Civil War then:

5.3 PvP Battles

Whenever two hostile armies enter adjacent squares, a PvP Battle will occur, even if the armies have movement points remaining.
If both players agree, the battle will be fought via multiplayer, with Ibn-Khaldun, Warmaster Horus, or anyone they choose acting as umpire.
The umpire will determine the map and the precise composition of the armies.
If the battle is not fought via multiplayer, there will be a 24 hour voting period to determine how the battle will be fought.
The voting options will be (a) Tabletop Battle (b) Abbreviated Tabletop Battle and (c) AI Battle.
All players may vote, even those not involved in the battle, all votes will be unweighted, and the option that receives the most votes will be chosen.
Tabletop Battles will be in the style of the Battle of Bern and the Battle of Trent and will be umpired by Ibn-Khaldun, Warmaster Horus, or anyone they choose.
Abbreviated Tabletop Battles will be identical to a Tabletop Battle, but will be 1 turn in length.
Players will determine their starting positions and outline a general strategy for the battle.
The umpire will then play out the battle and determine the victor.
The umpire may allow a maximum of 1 or 2 additional turns beyond the starting turn if they so choose.
The Abbreviated Tabletop Battle will be run by Ibn-Khaldun, Warmaster Horus, or anyone they choose.
AI Battles will be custom battles in the TW engine in which the AI will control all units on both sides.
AI battles will be umpired by Ibn-Khaldun, Warmaster Horus, or anyone they choose.
The umpire will determine all settings to be used in the battle, including the map and the precise composition of the armies.
Regardless of the type of battle chosen, the umpire must attempt to have the battle replicate the in-game state of affairs to the best of his ability.

ok, i think i understand. my reference was to the first circumstance. like if the comp engages someone and another avatar is "dragged" into the battle. so he will not have command of the avatar rbg itself, correct?

So many heroic victories.. so little screens... :P
It seems we all have a prob with screens, so here an advice: always make sure, that the last screeny you make is of the results... If you do that, you can at least copypaste this one into paint, even if all your others dont work in irfanview... unfortunately that only came to my mind AFTER my last heroic victory ;) ^^

Another thing you can do is to download Fraps and use that. It's easier and you can be sure every picture comes out good.

and with Fraps, at least for me, you don't have to turn anti-aliasing off to get the screen.

In the light of these recent Heroic Victories I'm sorry but I will be more strict with giving bp's so easily. So, kingsnake and Adamantarius will get only 2 bp's for those battles. It is unfair to the others, who manage to get screenshots from the battles, to give 3bp's to those that don't post screenies.
