Ah, coffee and cigarettes in the morning...
When I was a student, this was my daily morning ritual:
- get up;
- start the coffee machine;
- grab cigarettes (my favourite were L&M, but I also liked Marlboro), light cigarette;
- grab cup of coffee, lighter, pack of cigarettes;
- switch on the radio;
- open the window;
- sit on the window sill (my room was at the second floor), one leg outside, one leg inside or both legs on the sill;
- relax and enjoy the coffee, the cigarettes and the view...
Quit smoking about 6 years ago though and I'm no longer a student.
Cigarette has been replaced with chocolate, and the window sill has been replaced by my garden. I actually wake up 10 to 15 minutes earlier than necessary each day, to have my short morning ritual, right after breakfeast: just me, a cup of coffee, one chocolate bar, the green grass and the birds in the trees.
On a sunny day in the week-ends, it's me, a cup of coffee, a chocolate bar, the green grass, the birds and my lovely wife. The 10 to 15 minutes often end up in an hour or even longer and sometimes we just sit there, talking, enjoying each others company and the sun until it's time for lunch
